Welcome To:
Denver Precision Products

Grandpa, Claude A. Knuepfer, started in the screw machine industry in  1922 in Chicago.  My father and uncle joined him after WWII and my generation  started in the industry in the 70's and 80’s.  My father and a local machinist  started Denver Precision Products in 1971.  In 1978, I, Claude F. Knuepfer,  accepted a position as General Manager of Denver Precision and in 1981 bought  the corporation from my dad.

In college I argued that the problem with American industry was that they refused to modernize to keep up with the rest of the world and that jeopardized the US position in global manufacturing.  In the mid 80’s I looked around and saw that I was running equipment from the 1940’s and 1950’s, so I settled on a plan to modernize and add CNC machinery as the old technology had vanished  (much like buggy whips)   to computer controlled tools.  I added simple machines at first, growing more sophisticated, by adding live tooling and sub spindles and swiss type turning, staying focused in the turning industries, pioneered by Grandpa Claude A.

Now, Denver Precision Products equipment includes machines with sub  spindles, live cross drilling and milling, and even angular drilling and  milling.  Our goal is to make all those parts that used to require 2, 3, or even  4 processes and accomplish them in one. This makes process control simpler and  straight forward.

We have made a variety of  parts ranging from items for tags in cow’s ears to parts for the space shuttle.   We have produced parts successfully for the hydraulic, computer, aerospace,  military, electrical, secondary automotive, industrial painting, oil exploration, injection molders, sheet metal houses, medical, recreational, and   safety  industry.
